Duvet Guide

There are so many duvets to choose from, it can be hard to know what to choose. We spend almost a third of our lives in bed and sleep is a physical need just like water and food. That’s why it’s a good idea to spend some time finding one – or more – duvets that suit you best. We hope that this duvet guide will give you some recommendations on what to look for.

The seasons

Since a comfortable and even temperature is good for your sleep, you may need different duvets throughout the year. It’s like putting on your winter jacket in the winter and switching to a summer jacket when temperatures rise again in the summer.

The same goes for duvets. They have different properties, including insulation; whether a duvet feels cool, warm, warm or extra warm. What temperature you think is a comfortable sleeping temperature, only you can decide. They recommend 14-18 degrees, but again, remember that only you know if this is right for you.

While we can’t directly tell you which duvet to choose, we can make some general recommendations:

  • If you normally feel warm at night, we recommend choosing a cool or extra cool duvet during the summer months. The rest of the year you can choose a warm duvet.
  • However, if you feel chilly at night, we recommend a warm duvet in summer and a warm or extra warm duvet for the rest of the year.
  • If you are neither very hot nor very cold, we recommend a cool or warm duvet in the summer and a warm or hot duvet for the rest of the year.

What is carrying capacity?

The fill power – or FillPower – is an expression of the down filling’s insulating capacity. The higher the value, the higher the quality of the down and its ability to insulate against the cold in the bedroom. Please note that we offer a 10-year warranty on all duvets with a fill power of min. 650 CUIN.

What does it mean to you?

If you choose down with a high fill power, you need less filling to achieve the same warmth class – compared to choosing down with a low fill power. This gives you a lighter duvet that will last for many years.
