Some simple advice

By following these simple tips, you can keep your duvet and pillow looking “like new” for many years.

  1. Let the duvet & pillow “breathe” – When you wake up in the morning, there is still moisture left in the duvet and pillow. Let them “steam off” before you put the bedspread on.
  2. Shake & turn regularly – At least once a week, turn the duvet head to foot and always shake the duvet from different sides, allowing the filling to distribute throughout the duvet.
  3. Fresh air – Air your duvet and pillow regularly – never vacuum or beat them.
  4. Wash with care – Wash ONLY one duvet (140×200/220cm) or two pillows at a time. Use a washing machine with a capacity of min. 7 kg. Wash on a gentle program, with high water level and low drum rotation. Double duvets should be washed at a suitable laundry. Most of our duvets should be washed at 60ºC, but please follow the washing instructions on the product label. Always use a specialized down detergent WITHOUT enzymes. Never use fabric softener. The wrong detergent or fabric softener can ruin the down.
  5. Spot clean – If your duvet or pillow needs spot cleaning, it’s best done with a sponge instead of washing it in the machine.
  6. Tumble dry – Tumble dry the duvet and pillow after washing. Choose the most gentle rotation speed.
  7. Dry thoroughly – Duvets and pillows with down and feathers should always be tumble dried with a couple of tennis balls directly after washing, otherwise the down will lump together and mold may form. Tumble dry at approx. 60 ºC. The drying process takes a long time, 3 to 5 hours, depending on the capacity of the tumble dryer. The duvet and pillow must be completely dry, including the fine down inside. They must not feel moist in any way – and cannot tolerate direct sunlight.

Extra tips

WEIGH-WASH-DRY-WEIGH

Please weigh the duvet and pillow BEFORE washing and drying. Once you’ve washed and dried them, weigh them again. If they weigh TOO MUCH, the duvet or pillow is not completely dry inside and therefore needs to be dried a little longer.
