The World’s Most Luxurious Duvet – 100% Eiderdown
An unparalleled luxury duvet made entirely from 100% eiderdown sourced from the coldest regions of the world. The fabric casing is of equally exceptional quality, crafted from a unique blend of the finest cashmere wool and Tencel. These remarkable materials form the foundation of what is truly the world’s most luxurious duvet. Unlike other types of down, the tiny eiderdown clusters naturally interlock with each other, preventing them from separating or clumping. Moreover, eiderdown has no detectable quills, allowing the duvet to embrace you in pure softness and lightness throughout the night.
Conventional measurement methods used for other down types provide misleading results when it comes to eiderdown’s real insulating power. Therefore, we do not indicate a fill power for this type of down. Eiderdown is—without comparison—the warmest and at the same time the lightest natural filling material in the world. It is also inherently animal-friendly, as the down is not collected from slaughtered birds, but carefully hand-gathered directly from abandoned nests. The eiderdown provides consistent warmth while remaining exceptionally light and airy—it is the air trapped within the down that keeps you warm.
An eiderdown duvet is a long-term investment. Eiderdown lasts significantly longer than other duvet fillings. There are documented examples of eiderdown duvets that are more than 100 years old, passed down from generation to generation. Because of their exceptional durability, the down can be transferred into a new cotton casing when needed, allowing the next generation to enjoy a completely renewed duvet that can again last a lifetime—and beyond.
Eiderdown – Hand-Gathered from the Nest and Hand-Filled in Production
Obtaining eiderdown is a delicate and time-consuming process. The eider ducks are carefully protected until they have built their nests, hatched their chicks, and the ducklings have left. Only then is the fine eiderdown collected by hand from the abandoned nests.
Eider ducks live freely in small populations in some of the coldest areas on Earth—such as Iceland or the far north of Finland—which means that the available quantity of eiderdown each year is extremely limited.
The amount of down available depends on the climate, the birds’ diet, their surroundings, and their nesting success each season. After being gathered, the eiderdown is hand-dried and hand-cleaned using traditional “down harps.” It is a process of true craftsmanship. At our factory in Vamdrup, Denmark, the cleaned eiderdown is then hand-filled into the casings, ensuring the utmost care and precision in every duvet produced.

Certifications
Eiderdown duvets are the only duvets we produce with 100% natural filling that do not carry the DownPass 2017 label. This is because the down is collected from abandoned nests rather than from the birds themselves, making animal-welfare documentation irrelevant for this type of natural filling.
Nevertheless, our suppliers maintain extremely high ethical standards regarding the welfare of the eider ducks in their local habitats—otherwise, the ducks simply choose new nesting sites, as they live freely in the wild. In fact, as seen in photos from one of our suppliers, some ducks even build their nests under rooftops for extra shelter.
Our eiderdown duvets are, however, certified according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Class 1, Nomite, and Downafresh Greenline. In addition, the new fabric blend of Cashmere and Tencel also carries the Tencel certification.

All eiderdown duvets are made to order and typically available in two sizes—140×200 cm and 140×220 cm—and in three warmth levels: cool, medium, and warm.
Maintenance
Air regularly and brush gently with a soft brush.
Do not beat, vacuum, wash, or dry clean.
Spot-clean only with a well-wrung sponge and a mild, enzyme-free detergent.
